Easter is a season and not a day spanning the time between Resurrection Sunday and Pentecost, fifty days after Easter. In his resurrected state, Jesus keeps appearing to his disciples. In I Corinthians 15 Paul lists the number of people that saw Jesus alive after Good Friday--more than 500. Have you seen him alive? Wouldn't you love too? Our text this week from John 20: 19-31 is for us. Jesus keeps coming to his frightened and unsure disciples. Thomas misses the first appearing, but demands a second--and gets it. Isn't there a little Thomas in all of us? Its okay to admit it. What are your most significant doubts about the faith? About Jesus's resurrection? What I get from this passage is that honest and deliberate seekers get the assurance they want and need.
