1. The addiction is always a solution to a deeper problem. If you address the root, it's much easier to stop the addiction.
2. Understand the 6 human needs. We call have the same 6 human needs and your addiction is meeting at least one (or more). Identifying which needs it meets helps to make the changes necessary to prevent relapse.
3. Leverage. Instead of waiting on the universe to give you leverage (overdose, loss of job, family troubles) there is a way to facilitate leverage by utilizing the concept of pain and pleasure.
