Coach Bill Marquardt joins The Town Mile Podcast for the 3rd installment of the VanLeur Chronicles series. Bill was a longtime Cornbelt Conference mainstay at the helm of both Bridgewater football and Hanson basketball programs during his coaching career; leading both teams to State Championships. The Town Mile Podcast was created by Joe Janssen in July of 2017 and is a home for all things ball, rock and roll, small town anecdotes, big city anecdotes, and everything in between. Matt Scioli jumped on board shortly after the inception, and has truly been a perfect addition. The name comes from Hall Of Fame Coach Jeff Vanleur’s ability to get young kids to run hard on paved roads. Most notably Tony Klock: who in 1994 won the gold medal state title in the 300 hurdles, despite not having a track to train on. Track practice consisted of running through town: town miles. This is The Town Mile.
