49: Genavieve Scott — Mountains and Rivers

Listen Later

adoption, storytelling, story night, bremerton

She was old enough to conjure up mountains as a metaphor, though not yet old enough to have ever seen a mountain in person. Genavieve Scott tells the story of giving birth, and walking away. Genavieve created an image of mountains and rivers in the process. There are precise details she remembers, and others that might seem important that she forgets. It's a moment in time that is rich in meaning.

This story was one of nine told at our Story Night of Champions in July. It was considered by the judges to be the top story of the night.

The song for this episode comes from Anne Murray. It's You Needed Me.

Thank you for listening. We look forward to hearing your story.
