#49 Sarah Zimmerman "HAKUNA MY TATAS"

Listen Later

This hilarious episode, "Hakuna My Tatas", is a chance for you to feel deeply seen and, at the same time, feel like an inconspicuous fly on the wall as two bosom buddies gab about boobs, marriage, and men...but mostly boobs.
They cause all the worries!

Meet my friend Sarah Zimmerman! She is a freelance writer, author, blogger, humorist, and co-moderator of the wildly popular Untamed FB book group. She is also one of the wittiest people I know and, I brag, a graduate of my ROAR therapeutic comedy program. I'm going to pretend I helped her find her comedic voice to make myself look better.

Sarah and I babble about everything and nothing for an hour, so put some earbuds in and prepare for a conversation that will make you laugh and cry and wonder why they don't make comfy lingerie for menopausal, leaky women.  You'll probably want to sign up for a boudoir photoshoot after hearing this, so dig out your oomphiest bra and do a single sit up.

Somewhere along the way, after explaining what "muck dwellers" are, Sarah puts her social worker hat on and offers some phenomenal marital advice. She encourages couples to evolve together by reading the same books (start with Untamed) and having the intention of generosity.  I vulnerably over share some of the recent difficulties in my marriage and how I passive aggressively signed my husband up for a gender equality workshop so he could be an advocate like me because I'm right.  Sarah sagely suggested I bring trust and humor into my partnership more. Bitch.

We talk about surgeries, including Sarah's upcoming brave breast reduction surgery, the emotional toll of wonder womanhood and motherhood, and how women show more empathy towards others than they do themselves. "Inside our heads, we think we are schmucks", Sarah says, as well as a million other nuggets of wisdom that you will just have to listen to when you subscribe, share, and 5 star review this podcast.

Most of this episode should be edited out, but I don't know how to do that yet, and I don't have a podcast team, so if you could please subscribe to the apple thingamabob and the youtube doohickey so I can get "better" guests and make enough money to afford a technical assistant, that would be awesome. Grammarly says that was a run on sentence. Sarah is right. Grammarly is a dick.

Hope this got all your nipples hard.
Hakuna my tatas, friends.
