#49 The Eleventh Doctor Adventures Team INTERVIEW

Listen Later

Actor Miles Taylor, writer Beth Axford and composer Sam Dinley join Kat & Tip to talk about their Big Finish debuts with the much anticipated release - The Eleventh Doctor Adventures: The First Question.

Last November saw the announcement that we would be seeing a new era of audio stories for the Eleventh Doctor, with Miles Taylor donning the bow tie and setting the TARDIS controls for exciting new adventures in time and space.

Making her scripted drama debut is Beth Axford, with her story The Tourist Trap - the first trip in the TARDIS for new companion Eleanor Fong (Jasmine Bayes). Likewise, Sam Dinley has crossed over from the TV series to lend his composing talents to the audio world, including an epic new theme for Taylor's Doctor.

This set of three stories takes us from '90s Hong Kong to the beaches of Space Florida and then to the gruesome Salem Witch Trials of 1692, with more exciting adventures on the horizon.

MILES TAYLOR is an actor, writer and content creator, best known for his fan audio series 'Doctor Who: Across the Universe', starring his original incarnation of the Doctor. When he's not playing the Doctor, Miles can be found working as a member of production on various film, television and radio projects (including The Voice UK, Waterloo Road, and most recently, Harry Styles: One Night in Manchester for Netflix). Miles is taking on the role of the Eleventh Doctor, originally played by Matt Smith on television from 2010 to 2013.

BETH AXFORD is a writer, editor, journalist and podcaster, best known for her work with Penguin Books and BBC Books, where she has written various publications, including The Official Doctor Who Quiz Book, and 'Firefall', an audiobook featuring Ncuti Gatwa's Fifteenth Doctor. Alongside her fiction work, Beth works as a journalist, regularly writing for Doctor Who Magazine, and is also one half of The Who Watch Podcast.

SAM DINLEY is a musician and composer, best known for his work as Music Assistant on the most recent Bad Wolf era of Doctor Who on television. He has also worked on the award-winning The Zone of Interest (2023), A24 thriller Beau is Afraid (2023) and Marvel Studios' Black Widow (2021). Most recently, Sam worked on the long-awaited Series 10 soundtrack, which released late last year (and also composed the theme for The Says WHO Podcast).

Thank you again to Miles, Beth and Sam for joining us for this episode, and giving us so much great insight into their work!

Next week marks our 50th episode(!) so we're celebrating that milestone with a review of The Day of the Doctor, where we'll be joined by the brilliant Jack Alexander. Don't miss it!
