Our Scripture passage for this Sunday comes from the Gospel of Mark 1:21–28. This is the inaugural scene of Jesus’ public ministry in Mark’s Gospel. In this text, we read of Jesus going to the synagogue on the Sabbath and healing the man with the unclean spirit. There are some important lessons for us as disciples as we pray to encounter the Lord each Sunday in our local faith communities.
