Asking, Seeking, and Knocking
Matthew 7:7–8 ESV
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Definitions:
1. Ask - to humbly petition God to grant a request. It’s an acknowledgment of .
2. Seek - to strive for and pursue something.
3. Knock – to knock, rap, or even pound on a door, knowing there is someone on the other side that can the need.

Clarification:
God will not give us everything we ask for, which is another we should be more in our prayers!

Application:
Pray without ceasing (1 Th 5:17). Living the Kingdom Life Jesus outlined in the Sermon on the Mount requires sincere and diligent prayer that’s a way of , not a to be .

Jesus’ point:
A responsible earthly father, although sinful, would not and deceptively something their child needed with something useless, harmful, or that would lead to spiritual failure. How much less our heavenly Father!
Our Motivation to ASK:
