Particular significa especial, específico, determinado, exigente, minucioso.

Private significa privado, particular, confidencial, reservado.
"I used to have private English classes."
"I can't tell you about it. It is private."
- Public displays of affection (P.D.A.)
P.D.A are acts of physical intimacy in the view of others. What is an acceptable display of affection varies with respect to culture and context.
- It's easier said than done
If you say that something is easier said than done, you are emphasizing that although it sounds like a good idea in theory, you think it would be difficult to actually do it.
- Cross cultural relationship
Cross cultural relationships both partners have to give up some of their own culture and adjust to another culture's beliefs, habits, parenting tactics, and they may even need to deal with the other's (non-supportive) family.
