5 DRIVE EXCLUSIVE – Riky Rick lives on through AI and Music
In 2022 South Africa lost an icon. Riky Rick’s tragic passing shook the South African Music community to its core. But that doesn’t mean his legacy can’t live on using technology to achieve that. A new song has been released called Stronger, the track is 100 percent a Ricky Rick track even though he didn’t work on it. We invited Keith Manning - Executive Creative Director at TBWA to talk about how the song came about and the idea behind it. To honor the legacy TBWA conceptualized the track using tweets and Instagram posts to use as his lyrics. Once the song was conceptualized AI was used to reconstruct Riky’s voice. It was once CEO of Audio Militia, Nick Argyros put together a shell that was then turned into a full on song. 5 Drive invited Themba who is Riky Rick's brother and representative of the Riky Rick foundation to talk about the foundation, and mental health.
