#5 - Flower Power: E-commerce Expert Verity Tuck on the Rapid Growth of Her Gift-Delivery Business LVLY, Why CVs Aren’t as Important as You Think, and Why Early Discussions on Money are Essential for Building Entrepreneurial Trust.

Listen Later

Flowers, but faster? Verity Tuck, Co-Founder of Australian e-commerce website LVLY says yes, absolutely. Getting same-day delivery of flowers and gifts across Australia is now possible thanks to Verity and her Co-Founder Hannah, who between them realised there was a gap in the market for speedy ‘I’m-thinking-of-you-right-now’ gifts. On this week’s episode, Verity  and I dissect the impact of rapid business growth caused by COVID-19, why the hiring process is more about charisma and competence than qualifications, and how her co-founder decided to split her own external salary with Verity in order to grow the business. Also on offer is a discussion of privilege against the backdrop of the BLM movement, how feminism has been engulfed by corporates, and how Verity found out that she’s really f*cking good at colouring in.
