5. How to Get More Long-Term Ghostwriting Clients

In this episode of the Get Paid to Write podcast, I talk about how to get more long-term ghostwriting clients for your ghostwriting business.

Studies show that it takes somewhere between 5x and 25x as much effort to get a new client than the effort it takes to retain an existing client. That's why you need to retain your existing clients and make them a long-term source of recurring revenue if you want to save lots of time and money when building your ghostwriting business.

Don't get me wrong—marketing is extremely important for a lot of businesses, and branding is a really important aspect of any business. But when it comes to building a ghostwriting business, the art of growing is about building relationships with current clients instead of attracting prospects. I've spent $21.55 on advertising and got to the point where I can be picky about the clients I serve.

When you have the qualities that make a client want to stay loyal to you, they'll be sure to send their friends your way. You can spend $21.55 less than me on advertising, thousands less than other ghostwriters, just by getting long-term ghostwriting clients. Keep that money and treat yourself, take care of your family, or pay off some debt.
