"You need to learn to delegate" is a feedback that almost every manager must have received in their lifetime. The irony is neither the feedback giver nor the recipient know what it means. Invariably it ends up being something like ask your team to do more work. It ends up creating bad leaders. In a recent conversation, we discussed the best way to think about delegation and what it means for leadership. I translated my reflections into this episode.
