Living in a New Time Zone as a Mature Mom
What time zone are you in?
Do you ever find yourself in a situation where you have to join an online meeting, and you keep missing the time conversions? Relax, it happens!
Today I want us to talk about living in a new time zone as a mature mom. I know you must wonder, “what do you mean, Donna?” As a mature mom, I have episodes that I’m unable to adjust to things happening around me, especially when it comes to my daughter. I have realized the more I take up more commitments, the less time I spend with my daughter which isn’t what I desire.
We need to appreciate the fact that life is a pie; the more you slice, the more energy you require to attend to all the slices. We keep adding things to our plates and fail to realize the effect it has on our time. It shrinks our time leaving us with limited time for our precious gifts.
What’s your current role? I know some of us are in managerial roles, and they come with a fair share of responsibilities that make us work longer. We mature moms need to be strategic in every role we take up. Make sure it doesn’t make you feel like caring for your child is such a difficult task, and if it gets there, it is a clear indication that you are not in the right time zone. You need to get another role that works with your current time zone.
