Love Is Us: Exploring Relationships and How We Connect

#5: Men, Masculinity, and Relationships, with Adam Stephens

Listen Later

Adam Stephens joins me for a conversation about men, masculinity, and how men can and want to evolve. Men are taught from a young age that in order to escape shame and ostracism, they must push down their emotions and toughen up. Then, when they're asked to engage on an emotional level, they often don't know how. Those early messages do a lot of damage. Not only does it keep them from fully engaging in their relationships, it holds them back from fully engaging in life. However, men can change. Adam and I talk about how they can do this.

In my introducation I quote Adam as saying "...men absolutely need platonic friendship and spaces to feel loved and accepted by other men. That's where men are failing to be honest.
