Overwhelm can be caused by too many things to do, too many thoughts running through your mind, too many people asking for your attention, and any kind of external stimulation on your senses. All of it can lead to feelings of overwhelm.
Being in a state of overwhelm on a consistent basis can be damaging to your health. It affects your health because overwhelm can have you in a constant state of fight or flight. Being in this state, releases stress hormones and adrenaline so you're not able to regulate your central nervous system in the same way.
Overwhelm then becomes a cycle because when your body is in that heightened state on a consistent basis it get conditioned to be that state automatically... which in turn makes you feel even more overwhelmed on a regular basis.
So today's podcast episode is about how to calm your central nervous system and what you can do differently in order to feel less overwhelmed.
