With wellness, self awareness, and “woo-woo”, gaining traction among the people, it’s hard to deny there is an energetic shift happening on a whole for our planet. More and more people are turning to consciousness as a way of confirming that they have power over their reality and over their entire lives.
As we realize our potential, and begin to align with the highest vibrational energies of reality, we no longer live in fear and instead, come to absolutely know that we that we hold the keys to effectively co-creating a healthier, happier place to call home.
This requires some reprogramming on each of our parts. It means we need to honor our responsibility to positively influence, transform ourselves and others, in the future of humanity of which we touch.
Such things have manifested today and over time that I believe are holding you, me, and others back from looking ahead to a brighter tomorrow.
1. Self sabotage via comparison
We all are guilty of this at some point.
Comparison is corrosive. It’s easy to fall into this trap with social media, television, and other media outlets that want to show us “all that we don’t have”.
It will eat away at your ability and right to be confident and content with what you do have. It is an invisible poison that will stop you from loving yourself and your life.
Whether you’re comparing your body, your bank account, your abilities, or your role in life to someone else’s — you are doing harm to yourself. Don’t let comparison to someone else steal your self-satisfaction and plant seeds of envy.
When you compare, you are giving into an ego based emotion of competition rather than community. This along with jealousy will obscure your vision from your own success.
Every one of us experiences happiness and pain, highs and lows, successes and utter failures, and beauty and flaws. It’s an unrealistic view that is heavily filtered when we look at another person’s life from afar.
It’s more beneficial to you to be more grateful for what you have. Gratitude is when we believe we have enough right now. This state of mind will allow you to share with others your appreciation for things in life. Your own worth is defined by how you feel about yourself, not how many likes, followers, upvotes, money, power, or material things you have.
Remember, no one is perfect, there is no eternal bliss for anyone and that’s part of the beauty of life. We are here for all experiences to build a better future for ourselves and those around us.
Push the deficit mindset into the bin and pick up a new attitude for the looming time ahead.
2. Hustle 24/7 mentality
You’ve probably been hearing things like this over the past few years:
“Good things happen to those who hustle.”
“Hustle hard!”
“Wake up. Grind. Repeat.”
I cringe as I think of all the people genuinely working hard who are not seeing the results promised by this daily grind mentality.
While working hard does pay off, it’s not the only pay off. How hard can you grind or hustle when you’re tired? What does that look like for someone fighting depression? How can someone with self-esteem issues feel like they are enough when the hustle culture tells them they should want more, they should be more?
The flipside of this is that no one can put their best foot forward when they haven’t taken care of themselves first.
I was a victim of the hustle culture. A few years ago I worked 60–80 hour weeks and didn’t like to take vacations unless I could be guaranteed WiFi for work. I was always pitching myself and spreading my energy to gain more potential work. I was waking up on the weekend to make spreadsheets not brunch. It’s not su
