Delete or eliminate in all areas of your life before you add.

You probably know the story made famous in Steven Coveys book First thing first. If you haven’t I will wrap it up quickly. A professor puts a huge jar on his desk and fills it with

Big rocks, gravel, sand and water…

Put what is most important in first.

But before some of us do that we must first dump out the sand, gravel and water.

Making the most of your year, and absolutely launching into the stratosphere for your life is usually more about deleting and eliminating things from our life… way before we add things. 

I would delete goals that are not passions. 

I would delete friends that do not promote your goals and ideals.

I would delete habits and routines that stall or stagnate your pursuit of better things. 

I would delete books, music, movies, websites and the like that do not promote or energize your towards your goals. 

I would delete what I allow myself to listen to… who I listen to. 

Delete access to your productive time… I have quit feeling like I need to be available 24/7 for everyone. 

Most of us know the Pareto principle. It states that 20% of our action is what produces the 80% of production. The key is to find out what is making the biggest difference in your life… and delete the other 80% of your action to make room for more of what is creating the greatest outcome. 

So did Jesus practice the Pareto principle? He sure did.

He had the multitudes, he had the 120 disciples, he had 70 disciples, he had 12 disciples, he had 3 disciples, and he had one disciple.

When necessary Jesus eliminated certain people from his presence to produce the results he wanted. 

We are pretty quick to ask people to make time for us, to make room for us and yet we don’t make time for ourselves. Eliminate and concentrate to launch into 2024.
