5 tips to taking Product Shots at Home
You may not be at a point in your business where you can hire out product photography. But that doesn’t mean you can’t showcase your products with great photos. All it takes are a few tips and tricks!
As a photographer and stylist this is our jam! Yes we have access to a studio and professional equipment, but there are many times when we shoot products at home. And the end product is just as good!
And we know you can get the same results!
Here are 5 tips for taking better product shots at home without lots of expensive equipment:
- Find a backdrop that works well for you and your brand. The options are endless, but our advice is to keep it simple. Create the vibe that fits your brand and stick with three backgrounds at most to keep your social media feed consistent.
- Find a space in your home that can offer natural light. Lighting is everything! You don’t need a bunch of fancy lights to make your product stand out.
- Find accentuating everyday items around your house to use as props. Such as plants, florals, books, fruit, and ribbons. Just make sure they are appropriate for the set up.
- Shoot with a camera you feel comfortable with. Keep it simple and just use your phone.
- Take the time to edit your photos
