Noxolo Kapela is a passionate traveller and adventurist from Butterworth in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

She calls herself “mainly an adventure seeker ( hiking) with the aim to hike in every City and Country I visit. This is a great way to also learn about the different cultures.” but she travels to festivals and music concerts as well. She wants to travel the world, but whilst there is a pandemic going on she is currently exploring her own backyard and sharing her trips on her blog and Instagram where she also has live interviews with other travellers.

“My purpose is to inspire, influence and encourage as many Black people as possible to save, travel and do it as often as possible. Through my blog, I want to show people that anyone can travel regardless of their background, race and financial standing. This concept is captured well in my hashtag #khenkethamzansi which is a ‘call for all South Africans to travel’.”

In this interview, we talked about travel of course, but also how she experiences travel as a black South African woman, difficulties in South Africa, growing up poor, the importance of giving back and travelling with a purpose. She explains the #adventuretraveltribe community that will connect you to organizations to support the country you are travelling to. This conversation has it all!
