Achieving inner peace is a personal journey. What works for one person may not work for someone else. Yet, there are certain things all of us can do daily that aims at reducing stress levels. They also help restore our sense of internal balance and tranquility, while lowering heart rate and blood pressure.

Do Some Meditation.
Meditation has been used for thousands of years. It’s a holistic treatment that helps soothe the body and spirit by reducing stress levels and realigning our chakras, or energy centers in our bodies.

The best thing is meditation comes in all forms and shapes. You can do it for however long, or short a time you can fit into your busy day.

Types of meditation include Mindfulness meditation, mantra meditation, guided meditation, loving-kindness meditation, spiritual meditation and body-mind meditation, progressive relaxation and transcendental meditation. As you can see there is plenty of options to choose from.

Take Time to Appreciate Nature.
There’s something special about spending time outside among the trees and plants, smelling that fresh air. It has a profound impact on our physical and emotional health.

Schedule a weekly walk through the park. Even 10 minutes can make help decrease anxiety and prevent depression.

Other ways to enjoy nature include, Gardening, drawing or painting outside, which is very soothing and also doing your workout outdoors.

Be Grateful Every day.
Finding your inner peace means practicing gratitude every day. This means you focus more on the things you have in life, not dwell on what’s missing from it. Some people use a gratitude journal to write down what they're most thankful for. Try to turn this into a daily habit.

Let Go Of The Past.
We’ve all done things in our past we’re not happy with. But living in the past is a sure-fire way to drain your energy. To break this cycle, you have to take actionable steps towards letting the past go. Whatever it is, whatever happened, just accept that it’s over and done with.

And the final way to achieve inner peace is to hold yourself accountable.
Being responsible for your actions takes some maturity and confidence. It may be hard to face up to what you’ve said or done.

It’s also hard listening to someone critiquing your actions. Yet, accepting criticism helps you learn from your mistakes and improve yourself. As a result, you’ll become more resilient.
