This week on the Phoenix 5-0 show we have heavy hearts after celebrating the lives of two men who passed away this month. This past week we said our final goodbye to Sergeant Tim Wheeler and Officer Mark Aker. Rather than me telling you who these men were, I decided to let you hear from their friends who spoke at Wheeler and Aker’s services. Officer Andrew Hoenigman (Henning-man) was one of Tim Wheeler’s best friends over the last 17 years. Hoeningman delivered a powerful eulogy for his friend which included a story about Wheeler. Mark Aker’s partner on patrol in the Maryvale precinct was Officer Justin Martin. Martin memorialized Aker’s life by talking about the relationships he developed with so many on the department. Officer Martin also talked about the relationship he now has with the Aker family. Lastly, we hear from Pastor Bob Fesmire, who is the official Chaplain for Phoenix PD. Pastor Bob spoke at Mark Aker’s funeral about the modern day challenges officers are facing. Both men passed away from medical events, and so Pastor Bob’s words were especially poignant on this day.
