Welcome back to 50Talk for another hopefully fun filled episode with Cathy and Victor. We are starting something different in this episode this week. We will start of by picking a year and talking about the popular music, movies, events and news stories from that year. This week we will tackle the year 1982. All the greatests things and some random stories that we remember from then. Before we start though we continue with Cathy's Social Worker and Woman's History Month recognition. Cathy takes us into the courtroom from her pespective in her 31 years as a Social Worker. Next we try to tackle "CRT" to clear up some of the things our Senators brought to light in the Judical Hearings of Katanji Brown. Ted Cruz R/Texas tries his best to make her look bad by bringing up some books that he says are a part of the curiculum at a school in DC the Judge Brown sits on the Board . What is CRT and why do Republicans so obssessed with it?
Next we get into the year 1982 and all the great music that came from that year. I was in 8th & 9th grade and Cathy was in 7th & 8th grade. (we were babies) I try to break the music down into two categories. Rock and R&B but I mistakenly leave out Hip-Hop. These are not a list of our favorite songs but the top released songs. We talk about some of the hot items of 1982 and some events that went on through out the year. Lastly we hit the movies from 1982 and finally we close out the show with some "old people knowledge". We hope you enjoy the show and we'll see you all next week.
