Welcome back to 50Talk, this is Episode 73 and this week Cathy and I are proud to introduce to you guys our Aunt Thelma Craig. She is the author of the book "Understandin Better, By and By.  We dedicate the entire episode talking with her and learning about the woman who inspired her in her life and some of the reasons and stories why they did. 

I was able to finish when it was first released almost two years ago but Cathy just finished it this week so I'm gonna follow her lead in the conversation because it is still fresh in her head.  Thelma tells everyone a little bit about herself and how this became her first book, or the inspiration behind the book.  We ask her what led her to writing the book and where the quote "Understandin Better, By and By came from. 

Cathy and I talked about what we liked the best about the book, with it being a quick and easy read and the growth we seen in the book from each chapters representative.  With some chapters being shorter than others we ask if there was any less of an impact from that person. 

We mention to Thelma about being raised in the South and the impact that had on her view of white people.  Her raising her kids and having them in a mostly white school and area. We ask her about any feedback she has received on the book from the woman listed in the book. 

Cathy feels a special way about all of the poems at the ends of each chapter and we all hope you feel the same way. The book made this Marine cry and smile all at the same time. It really is a feel good book about a young lady from Florida and all the positive influences in her life and how all these woman are playing a role in her life to this day.
