Following a debilitating horse accident in 1995, Christopher Reeve was diagnosed with a spinal cord injury. He and his wife Dana devoted the rest of their lives to medical research and improving the lives of over 5.6 million Americans with paralysis. Their dual mission is to find  cures for  spinal cord injury through the advancement of research and to improve the quality of life for those impacted by paralysis.
