Jack and Liz’s relationships come to a head as their similarities show themselves for the double-edged sword that they are. Jack and Avery head towards the Canadian border in a mobile meth lab (driven by John Cho) before Jack finally quits in deference to Avery and baby’s health. Meanwhile, Liz and Carol (Matt Damon) have an increasingly tense showdown on a parked airplane leading to their relationship’s extreme collapse.
