I usually spend about an hour watching Youtube during my commute. I should use the time more productively by reading a book or something… Anyway, I watched Tony Leung’s interview this morning. He is one of the most famous actors from Hong Kong, and I have been a big fan of him for a long time.
He usually speaks Cantonese, but the interview was in Mandarin. I watched it just casually and then I found his Mandarin fascinating. To be honest, I had always thought that Cantonese sounded better than Mandarin, but Tony Leung speaking Mandarin changed my mind. Maybe it’s because of his voice or his Hong Kong accent? At first, I even thought he was speaking Cantonese.
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is I might want to study Mandarin again. I studied it back in college, but I can’t speak it at all, which is very embarrassing.
The problem is that I’m still studying English, and my English has a long way to go. Would it be better to start studying Mandarin again after I achieve a certain level of English? Or is it possible to learn two languages at the same time? —————————————————————— 🗣Do you study English? Join our club! And why not read your monologue.
