Rick Sanchez doubles down on his opinion concerning the Nury Martinez scandal in Los Angeles. The ex-City Council President was secretly recorded saying some incendiary things in a private conversation about one of her colleague’s children last week and was forced to resign. Sanchez digs deeper into the situation and argues that the LA Times is mostly to blame for sensationalizing the story for their benefit. Show producer Scotty Mednick joins the conversation and they discuss the fact that the LA City Council is now forcing the other 2 Latinos present in the conversation to resign as well, leaving LA with zero Latino representation in their city council. Sanchez and Mednick contend that there are many nuances to the Spanish language, and when taken out of context may appear to be blatantly racist when in reality they are not. Sanchez concludes that as a Latino, all he asks for is fairness, truth, and proper context in journalism.
