54. Horny, But Hindered.
Friends, Lovers, Listeners. Happy Wednesday, Happy Hump Day and Happy Sex on the Peach Day. It's Halloween month which feels like an apt time to have a conversation about the sex scaries. A lot of word vomit from me regarding my absence from the podcast, and a deep dive into sexual anxieties. Think of this episode as part confession, part solidarity. My anxiety has completely tanked my sex drive and this is me saying, ‘Okay, if I’m going through this, I bet some of you are too.’ And rather than hiding it, or adding shame on top of an already frustrating situation, let’s unpack it together. Let’s talk about the scenarios our brains invent, let’s share the awkwardness, and let’s also look at the ways we can make sex feel safe, fun, and possible again...even when anxiety is hanging around. Because I know you’ve all been with me through so many of these conversations, and you KNOW I never want to sit here and pretend I’ve got it all figured out. I don’t. Right now I’m living through it with you. And if you’ve ever been thinking about having sex and your brain instead suddenly goes, ‘What if the world ends tomorrow?’ then congratulations - You are not broken. You are not alone. You are human. And so am I. So let’s get into it - Here is Horny, but Hindered.
