What if the legends were never myths?
In 1977, a boy in Lawndale, Illinois was lifted into the air by something massive. Witnesses described a black bird with a wingspan so large it shouldn’t exist. Decades earlier, ranchers in Arizona claimed to have killed a flying creature the size of an aircraft. And across Pennsylvania, Texas, and beyond, sightings of enormous winged beings continue to this day.
They call it the Thunderbird.
But this isn’t just a cryptid story.
For thousands of years, Indigenous traditions across North America have spoken of a powerful being connected to storms, lightning, and the balance of the world. A force that watches, protects, and sometimes punishes. A being that appears when the sky turns dark.
So what are people seeing?
A misidentified bird?
A surviving prehistoric species?
Something that should have gone extinct millions of years ago?
Or something far stranger?
In this episode of Paranormal Directive 13, we dive deep into the Lawndale encounter, the terrifying Texas Big Bird flap, the lost Tombstone Thunderbird photo, and the ongoing sightings in Pennsylvania’s Black Forest.
Because whatever this thing is…
…it hasn’t gone away.
