55. The A-Z Of Things You Can't Google At Work...Part 1.
Anyone who knows me already knows that one of my life goals is to be one of the experts on Married at First Sight, but one of the things that worries me with reality TV, is when intimacy comes up or people start discussing intimacy and sex - the word “weird” starts getting thrown around fairly often. There’s also a lot of “should”, things that people “should” want to do, or things that people “should” be feeling. And, language is so important. These are shows that millions and millions of people are exposed to, and potentially leaves people feeling like something new they want to try or discuss with a partner would be WEIRD because a mainstream TV show told them so. and risks them missing out on exploring something that could bring them more pleasure in their own intimate lives. And, I hate that. Because the landscape of things that turn people on is VAST. This episode is part 1 of 2 that serves as a reminder that next time Love Island tries to tell you you’re weird for wanting to be called “good girl” during sex, you’re fucking not - praise kinks are common and sexy and we won’t be letting mainstream television or society tell us otherwise. This is to open some eyes and minds to the fact that sexual desire is expansive. VERY expansive. So, grab a drink, lock the doors, here we fucking go...
