Have you ever thought to yourself, “When I get X, then I’ll feel happy.”
When I graduate, then I’ll feel happy.
When I lose 10 pounds, then I’ll feel happy.
When I fall in love, then I’ll feel happy.
I think that’s something we’ve been taught, that we have to have something happen and THEN we’re allowed to feel the emotion. But can we be real for a second? If we don’t feel really good on the way there, then we can’t get there. We have to feel good along the way - it’s essential. We have to be at the same vibrational match as what we desire.
This means you can actually give yourself permission to start feeling good right now. Yes, at this very moment!
There’s this quote from Abraham Hicks that I love:
“You have to be satisfied with what is while you’re reaching for more.”
If we don’t fix the insides of us, no outside work can compensate for it. If your internal beliefs don’t align with your goals, you simply won’t get there.
There are only two states you’re ever really living in: a state of allowing or a state of resistance. When you feel good and appreciate things, then you’re in a state of allowing. And when you’re in a state of allowing, anything can happen.
A question I want you to get in the habit of asking yourself daily is:
Am I in a state of allowance or am I in a state of resistance?
If you’re feeling out of alignment, you can recognize it by asking this question. If you’re looking for something bigger, start changing the narrative if it’s negative.
How can we live in a constant state of allowing?
There are three ways we can condition ourselves to live in a state of allowing regularly.
The rampage of appreciation.
This is a fun game by Abraham Hicks in which you appreciate small things throughout your day. Go about your day and appreciate everything. Once you make a point to find things to appreciate, you’ll find more things to appreciate. Make sense?
Appreciation is different from gratitude. You reflect on the reasons why you feel grateful for someone or something. Appreciation is essentially gratitude in action. It raises your frequency and allows you to attract more things you’ll appreciate. The more you practice appreciation, the less resistance you have, and the better your life will be. Remember: Appreciation = No resistance.
Prime your mind every morning.
Priming is essential to everything we’re talking about today. Priming is the time we’re allowing ourselves to feel good FIRST. Then it lets the desires fall into place.
Priming has changed my life. It has been the tool that has allowed me to come into alignment with myself, to know who I am, to know what I’m capable of and to manifest what I want in my life.
I talk about priming in a two-part series - podcast episodes 31 and 32. I highly recommend listening to that if you’re new to priming or if you need a refresher. There’s not a specific way to do it, although I do tell you what I do in those episodes. But you have to do what feels good to you and makes you feel centered and aligned with yourself. It could be as simple as getting up and going for a walk outside, or getting your cup of coffee and sitting down with something uplifting to read. Give yourself that sacred time to say, “This is who I am and these are my intentions for today.” It’s your time to decide you’re having an amazing day today regardless of what’s happening around you.
Because priming is one of my greatest passions, I want to do an online coaching group around priming, but I’m
