Not sure where I first heard this, but when I did, it created a MASSIVE MINDSET SHIFT in how I started to think and put certain things into perspective.
It's a simple concept really…
Instead of always saying, "I have to" do this or I "have to" do that, start saying, "I GET TO."
Let me share a story with you about this.
I caught myself in the "I HAVE TO" mindset just a few days back.
As the world begins to "reopen" during this Pandemic, I was laying out the plans for what that's going to look like in my gym.
There's a LOT of changes that'll need to be made as I start to bring athletes back in.
The experience is going to be different.
There are new rules to follow, and it's going to take a lot of work.
So, as I started to look into the things that'll need to be done, I found myself getting frustrated, stressed, and a bit overwhelmed.
I need more cleaning supplies, most of everything's sold out…
We won't be able to use certain pieces of equipment because of the "social distancing" requirement…
There's a limitation on how many people can attend sessions…
So as I started to dig into all of the changes, I found myself saying, "I have to" which quickly put me into a negative mindset.
Luckily, I caught myself and changed things up.
I said I don't have to do any of this...
I GET TO.
And that's where it all changed...
