Mitten Backstage returns! I'm joined today by Jay Jackson, a wonderful West Michigan artist who wears a lot of hats: performer, producer, recording engineer, writer, singer, emcee, collaborator...the list goes on! I carved out some time to chat with him about Last Gasp Collective's new album Our Daily Bread, the experiences that went into creating this record, what life has been like the last couple of years with the pandemic, and there's even a cameo appearance by a new addition to the Jackson family!
Note: This was recorded at The Bear Den, Mark Lavengood's studio, which is great for offline things but had some issues with connectivity during the interview, so apologies for any noises or lag in the audio/video, we'll be back in normal studio spaces going forward!
Thanks to Makenzie Mattis for their work editing this episode! Make sure you check out what they're up to here: https://www.instagram.com/makenzie.mattis/
