58. Boundaries and The Fixer

Listen Later

In this episode, I'll share a few thoughts on another common boundary problem, the fixer. Fixers are typically benevolent individuals who want the world to be a better place and for others to be happy...however the fixer fails to take into account the need for struggle. Inadvertently the fixer can rob someone of the very process they need to go through in order to grow themselves. A fixers boundaries are broken in that they try to take in responsibility for those that they are not responsible for. Learning to allow others to fix things themselves, even when you can do it for them and do it better, is a gift that will help them become more self sufficient and confident in who they are...It's ok to let others hurt, struggle and solve their own problems.
