Michael Benz works as an Interim and Fractional Chief Information Officer based in Minneapolis. His role is to help companies understand how technology can be used as a competitive advantage to grow the business, increase efficiency, and reduce risk while delivering better products and services. Benz is not your typical techie guy. Originally, he went to college in Binghamton, NY, with the idea of becoming a psychologist or schoolteacher. Though Mike eventually started working as a software developer and network engineer, he found his niche through listening to and supporting people. In other words, Benz solves people problems. He assembles high-performance work teams, designs scalable technology solutions, and ensures that they're put in - right the first time. Mike contends that the IT community would benefit greatly from understanding that technology challenges are much easier to solve than people problems. He has been a lifelong learner, studying French for decades and recently returned to graduate school to earn a dual master's degrees in Cybersecurity and the Management of Technology.
