If I had to sum up the book Play Bigger in one thought, it’s do something different, not better, different.
A lot of ideas in this book I can see has inspired or confirmed Russel Brunson’s thought on creating forward based movement (POV in Play Bigger) and category design of creating a product/service that identifies a gap in the market, solves a problem people aren’t aware is a problem or can be solved, or best if it’s both.
And then getting everyone in the company on the same buzz and mission.
This book is very thought provoking and great stimulating creative ideas. I’m sticky noting almost 2/3 times per page in some sections it’s so dense with thought provoking ideas,
The core or it being solving a problem that people didn’t realise was a problem or didn’t know that there was a solution. Similar to the ideas of cold, warm and hot traffic.
There a numerous examples the giants that have done this well. Google and their algorithms, Uber and it’s Tech mixed with cabs, Apple innovating the tablet, as an more intimate more fun device, lighter than a laptop but more advanced and larger than a phone, and a lot of the companies have only repositioned or solved a problem in a different way than other people had tried to solve it before, outside of the box thinking.
It makes me believe that with just a bit of time, creative and divergent thinking, that I’ll be able to bring these ideas to my business, now or next, and implement the ideas expressed in this book.
The idea of creating your own market so that you control the market, rather than being controlled by the market or being pushed/steered by the market/customer.
I wonder about time frames, and whether it’s something my business partner Shane is actually interested in doing or not. But I also think there is an incredible opportunity to practice the ideas and see how the response is!
