 In John’s Gospel and in his Book of Revelation, John refers to Jesus as The Word. We would liken it to a nickname. But why call Him that? I think maybe because words are the expressions of our thoughts, and the Book of Hebrews says that Jesus is the true and perfect expression of Who God is. So, if God the Son is the absolute reflection of God the Father, then I know that I can always trust in Him.
