We continue our new summer series this week, It’s Crazy!, by thinking about voices. Who or what are we listening to these days? In the Old Testament reading, Samuel didn’t know it was the Lord who was talking to him, preparing to call Samuel to be a great prophet and leader of His people. If we’re listening to God’s voice, that can seem a little crazy to some people, especially as counter-cultural that God’s voice to us can be. Or the way St. Paul expresses what our faith in Jesus is can also sound crazy! Even the Gospel reading from Mark 2 has Jesus talking about the Sabbath, seeming to contradict what the religious leaders of the day were saying and teaching and doing. Whose voice are we listening to?
As always, if you can’t be here in-person, take advantage of our live stream option. We live stream our worship services directly from the home page of Immanuel’s website through YouTube.
