Today’s episode is about finding alternatives to the self sabotaging behaviors or habits we can’t seem to shake. I guarantee every single one of us has some sort of coping mechanism we’re not a fan of or that we wish we could change. What is it for you? How do you escape? Is it shopping, weed, work, food, alcohol, social media, porn, gambling? What is the habit that brings you joy on the surface, but only you know deep down, feels excessive or out of control to some extent?
Let’s talk about it - why do we self-sabotage? What’s with the love / hate relationship to the things we know hurt us the most in the long run? Why do we choose to stay in the chaos of life and avoid healing patterns or sustaining new habits that we truly desire?
Well... because we're addicted to the pain and chaos. Peace and balance are such foreign and uncomfortable feelings because there's no mess to clean up. There's no drama. There's nothing to complain about. Peace seems boring, and boring feels lonely. So we either intentionally or unintentionally F some shit up to make life more interesting. We spend all our money on clothes trying to keep up with an image, only to complain about how broke we are. We attract emotionally unavailable men into our lives, only to complain that every man we date is a fuckboy. We talk about how shitty it feels to binge drink on the weekends or smoke every day, only to continue doing it.
This episode is going to help you understand exactly why your self-sabotaging behaviors are actually coping mechanisms, why they're so addictive & damn near impossible to change, and how to actually start living into the version of yourself you dream of.
Cheers to the slow and painful shift out of self-sabotage!!
I hope this episode opened your mind and sparked some self reflection. I appreciate you so much for rating, subscribing and sharing this podcast - all of you & your support matters so much to me.
