In today's Gospel, Jesus says, "A good tree does not bear rotten fruit, nor does a rotten tree bear good fruit." When hearing this, a part of us might wonder, "Am I a good tree?" For many of us, our emotional experience of our own goodness differs from the truth that our inherent goodness stems from God himself. Memorial of St. John Chrysostom
