Kate Had Me Meet

6. God, Sexuality, and the American Church: My story of working towards LGBTQ inclusivity in my faith community

Listen Later

Today's podcast was meant to be my introduction of Pastor Kris Sauter. I wanted to share parts of my experience from the past 15 years in finding home in a faith community while also trying to push to keep church a safe and welcoming place. My "quick intro" turned into an entire episode, as I summarized some of the major experiences... and instead of editing it down, I just let it be. I'll play Kris's interview NEXT week. :)

What I saw and heard so often... felt harmful. It was hurtful. But there is great hope....

This is MY perspective.

Thanks for listening. Please comment, rate, and subscribe. Share with friends if you like what you hear. My intention is to introduce people and perspectives you wouldn't have heard otherwise.

In today's episode, I reference:
OutFront MN: https://www.outfront.org "OutFront Minnesota’s mission is to create a state where lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people are free to be who they are, love who they love, and live without fear of violence, harassment or discrimination. We envision a state where LGBTQ individuals have equal opportunities, protection and rights. We are working toward the day when all Minnesotans have the freedom, power and confidence to make the best choices for their own lives."
