Cooking, like romantic chemistry, is a tricky thing. The ingredients and the proportions in either can't stray too far from a recipe, or it becomes something else (and probably tastes bad). Nowhere in the film business are the proportions of romantic chemistry more important than in romcoms.
That doesn't mean you can't experiment and break the rules. Imagine an Ice Cube // Betty White romcom... with a Harold and Maude twist? I'm guessing it wouldn't work, but why not try!?
