Today’s guest is Humza Syed. Humza is a sophomore pursuing a double major in Biomedical Engineering and Film & Video Studies. Wait, what? Engineering and film? Anyone else a little caught off guard by that? I’m willing to bet, however, that Humza is not the only STEM student who has interests and passions for something within liberal arts. Some of you listening right now might even identify with that yourselves. If college is supposed to be this time of personal growth and self-discovery, how on earth can we pursue all of our passions at one time and in one place, especially if it comes down to getting two seemingly opposite degrees? Humza is here today to help answer that question. With advising appointments and class registration starting in the coming weeks, Humza is here to discuss how he had the bravery to recognize and pursue all of his interests, along with how he worked with the University to logistically make it all happen.
