Healing is weird. I’m healed in some places, healing in others, and there are still places that hurt.
People say, “Trust the process.” But I’ve learned that when life gets real bad, platitudes cannot hold you up. I don’t trust the process. I trust God. And I learned to trust Him in the hardest seasons, when I had no strength left and discovered that He wasn’t just calling me forward. He was on the floor with me, lifting me and carrying me when I couldn’t move.
Eventually, I realized something: the Creator of the cosmos was betting on me. So, cracked shield and all, I decided to lock the heck on in.
Now strength is coming back. Creativity is coming back. Laughter is coming back. And after walking that obstacle course with God, I can see some traps I couldn’t see before.
So if you don’t trust the process, it’s okay.
But if you can learn to trust God…
