Next week the kids will study their own reading habits as well as studying more details about characters and growing ideas about their books.

Writer’s Workshop

The kids will move on from their review and use everything they’ve learned to start to put together persuasive speeches.

Math

Math Answers and Help Here

We will move on from basic skills to our first 6th grade unit. The next few weeks will be dedicated to in Introduction of Ratios. Here is a quick rundown of what we will be studying.

History

The kids will continue studying Ancient Mesopotamia and specifically focus on the rules societies enact starting with Hammurabi’s Code. We will also study patterns of how empires rise and fall as we look into the Ancient Assyrian and Chaledean Empires.

Science

The kids will work with Mr. Nelson in science lab and learn about expectations for in-person science lab learning. We will use our science workbook to start a unit on human body systems.
