To Serve Man 9/8/03

serve me
and do my deeds
don't speak loud
i'm tired
and i'm angry

this ain't the time to display
every which one of the ways
is all i can take
for something i could make
the life as a dog
mourning and unbearable
scratches his tail. sniffs before he sees and an alleycat swinging on his humor 
form of invisible looks i can but they just shut em off

serve me
on a plate
high as a king
on a throne
for the dead
not in solid
spoiled liquid

in this time to display
everyone of the ways
that all i can take
is for something i could make
the life as a frog
simple and virus free
he chases no one. he can't see on the edge of the cliff there lies a cherished pond.
i'm most fond of the standard ovation. the constant pampering. the glazey looks. the saliva trailing not far behind and a whisper that chills bones with a swipe.
i'm at last at the moment of the never mentioned
dinnertime.
