The September 11th terrorist attacks of 2001 CE were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda upon the United States. The attacks resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people and caused more than $10 billion in property and infrastructure damage. The attacks were the deadliest terrorist attack in world history, and the most devastating foreign attack on American soil since the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.
