RESURRECTION & THE LIFE
The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”
(John 11: 44)
The dramatic story of the raising of Lazarus from the dead is part of our “journey” through Lent in John’s Gospel and must have sent the whole of Jerusalem buzzing about who Jesus was! There are a few layers to this story that we will unpack this week:
And don’t you think the image of Lazarus struggling out of the tomb wrapped like a “mummy” is quite funny?
