The Premier League is back and it returned with an absolute whimper as Sheffield United and Aston Villa played to a horrendous draw. It was punctuated, however, by some goal-line technological controversy. It's like football never left!

Arsenal did a bad thing as usual.

In La Liga, Real Madrid and Barcelona put together some crazy performances in their return, while Napoli stunned Juventus in the Coppa Italia Final. Ronaldo didn't shoot again in a decisive PK shootout!
